Cliff-Top Lookout

Project Details

This is a base that David moved out of on the First Amplified SMP server. It took advantage of the height differences introduced by the amplified terrain generation option in Minecraft.

The base featured a mine cart elevator to get to the top quickly, automatic farms in the forest below, and later a monorail connection. A rainbow connecting this base to Ben's base was built since it was a steep drop on each side and dyed clay had been introduced. There is also a tunnel at the bottom of the spire connecting to spawn, and Matt's base.

Connections

This base was very well connected, there was a tunnel connecting to spawn, and Matt's base, as well as a rainbow bridge connecting to Ben's base. The server also featured a monorail system constructed with the mine cart physics changes introduced in snapshot 14w11a. This snapshot allowed mine carts to go much faster, and also introduced a mechanic where they could derail. These changes never made it to the final release but it was fun. 

Moving Out

The base was not completely abandoned after David moved out to his Waterfront Mansion. Peanut ended up moving in shortly after.
